Josephine Jackson

Josephine Jackson was born in Cumberland County, N.C. to the late Jackson Barber Sr. and Eunice Starling Barber on December 29, 1941 and she passed away on October 3rd, 2026 at the SECU Hospice House, in Smithfield NC.

Josephine was an Avid hairdresser and later became a Certified Nursing Assistant, which both were her passions. She attended the Micro Free Will Baptist Church in Micro, NC.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William” Buck” T. Jackson, her brother, Jackson Barber Jr., her sisters, Linda Hawes and Wanda Lee Barber and Her nephew Zack Hawes.

She is survived by her brother Jimmy Barber, of the Philippines and her nephews Michael Griswold of Lillington, NC and Nathan and Erick Hawes.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Barbour Court Nursing Home for caring for Josephine through her time there.
