Joyce Ann Austin

Joyce Ann Austin, 82, of Smithfield, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Born December 21, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Ora and James Stanley. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Whitley; and brother, Larry Stanley.

Joyce was a loving wife and devoted mother whose greatest joy was her family. She was known for her giving and selfless spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. Joyce was a faithful member of First Christian Church, where she had worshiped since the age of 13. She will be missed dearly.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11:00am, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors one-hour before the service, beginning at 10:00am. Burial will follow at the Hills of Neuse Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Delma Austin; daughter, Joy Hockaday (Tim); son, Del Austin (Cheri); brothers, Ricky Stanley and Robert Stanley; and grandson, Caleb Austin.
