Benson, NC: Mrs. Joyce Faye Raynor Gebhardt, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Graveside Funeral Services will be 4:00PM-Friday, March 24, 2023 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Benson, NC. Rev. Leon Tart will officiate.
Mrs. Gebhardt was born on April 8, 1942 in Johnston County, NC to the late Carl and Ila Mae Hudson Raynor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gebhardt; grandson, Josh Hughes; brothers, Graylon Raynor and David Raynor; sister, Retha Pearl Raynor. Mrs. Gebhardt was co-owner and operator of Gebhardt Incorporated for 38 years and also worked with First Citizens Bank in Benson and Raleigh for 18 years. She was the life of the party and always was willing to give with a helping hand.
Survivors include her children, Rene Lee and husband, Johnny of Benson, Shae Barbour and wife, Rosie of Mineola, New York; grandchildren, Billie Michelle Thorne and husband, David, Delilah Barbour, Riley Barbour; great-grandson, Jameson Thorne; sister, Edna Earle McLamb of Benson; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service and other times at the home of Johnny and Rene Lee.
