Sanford, NC: Mrs. Judy Capps Hanks, age 64, of Winchester Drive, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at her residence with her loving daughter by her side. Memorial Services will be held-3:00 PM, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Rodney Stone.
Mrs. Hanks was born on August 19, 1958 in Johnston County to the late Ernest Edward and Eula Mae Hall Capps. She was preceded in death by brothers, Buck Capps, Kenny Capps, and Leonard Hall. Mrs. Hanks retired from Thomas Superette in Sanford. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and drinking many cups of her favorite coffee, Maxwell House Master Blend.
Surviving include her daughters, Crystal Gooding and husband, Mark of Sanford and Erica Marie Stone of Sanford; grandchildren, Jason Johnson, Angel Stone, Emily Stone, Matthew Stone and Whitney Travers; great-grandchildren, Grayson Stone and Karsyn Stone; sisters and brothers, Joyce Cox of Broadway, Ella Mae Dowdy of Supply, Frances Brown of Broadway, James Capps of Vass, Curtis Capps of Wilson, Donald Capps of Olivia, and Linwood Capps of Dunn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
