Julia Frances Lucas

Julia Frances Lucas, age 87, of Benson went to be with Lord on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

She was born in Harnett County, NC on June 2,1939 to her parents, the late Ozell and Loudie Jones Horton.

In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Zary Kelly Lucas, Sr. “Zeke”, and sons, Zary Kelly Lucas, Jr. “Kelly”, and Michael Blaine Lucas, Sr. Also sister, Jean Horton.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Lucas Hamilton and her husband, Chris Hamilton. Six grandchildren, Angela Lucas Blackmon, (husband Junior) of Dunn, Michelle Lucas Holmes, (husband Harold) of Dunn, Crystal Lucas Byrd, (husband John Paul) of Dunn, Michael Blaine Lucas, Jr (wife Samantha) of Godwin, Christie Lynn Hamilton of Angier, and Cody Lucas Hamilton of Erwin; fifteen greart grandchildren. Also sisters, Geraldine Warren and Ann Gattis (husband Bill), both of Durham.

Her favorite past time and hobby was shopping with her best friend, Brenda Harper. She loved collecting “treasures” she found and using those special finds to decorate her home, making it feel special.

Julia was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 10 am at the Lee’s Chapel Church Cemetery located at 4948 Plainview Road (421 South), Dunn, NC 28334. Pastor Jerome Pope will officiate.
