A graduate of Goldsboro High School in June of 1988, and a single mother by January of 1989, Julia lived life on her own terms. While her boys were young, she worked as a business manager for a local grading company. Julia worked her dream job as a Delta flight attendant. She loved to travel and Delta provided her the opportunity to tour the world. Her work ethic was much like her personality – smart, strong-willed, and stubborn, and in work and life those traits defined her and made her the woman she was. She was successful and her strength and determination undoubtedly helped her deal with life’s challenges including the fight for her life against glioblastoma. She was only beginning to scratch the surface of her fullest potential, had she not been diagnosed in July of 2017, there’s no telling how brightly her star may have shined.

Julia was a beautiful person inside and out – but make no mistake about it, she was no saint and she had the colorful vocabulary of a sailor. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. She cared deeply for the people around her. She was kind and passionate and she made an impact on many lives. She had an enormous heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and an infectious laugh. She was generous, loyal, and brave. She will be remembered for goodness she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them.

She was the life of the party, with a sparkle in her beautiful blue eyes and a swing to her hips. She loved to dance! She loved fashion and all the finer things in life, but nothing compared to the love she had for her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and her relationship with her siblings and her parents, especially her mother was cherished She was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, colleague, and friend. She touched the lives of so many people. She will forever be missed and will never, ever be forgotten.
