June Niles Holt, age 89, a longtime resident of Selma, passed away on June 2, 2022 surrounded by her family. Born in Waco, Texas on February 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd D. and Fannie Mae Lawson Niles. June was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Holt and her brother, Charles Niles.
In her younger years, June worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Waco, Texas. She was the Honorary Queen for a Day in Hollywood in 1951. After coming to Selma, she worked for several years at Harrison Junior High School and later as a Court Advocate for Harbor House. Mrs. Holt was a member of Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Jerry H. Bloomfield and husband Peter of Kenly, Donna H. Brown and husband Steve of Selma, DeDe H. Stott and husband Ray of Wilson’s Mills; a brother, Lawson Ray Niles of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Tony and Brian Rabil, Tate Holt, Erica, Leah and Michael Stott, and Savannah Brown; and great grandchildren, Natalie, Kaitlyn, Mikayla, Brennan, Ella and Ethan Rabil, Emily and Liam Holt, Luke and Lucy Amo, Eli and Adam Stafford.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home on Monday from 6-7 pm and at other times at the home. Memorial services will be held at 7pm Monday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home.
