An avid reader and lover of music, Katie found solace and inspiration in the arts, which colored her world with vibrancy.

Her unwavering determination was evident as she continued to work at Kellogg’s in Cary, NC, serving as a testament to her tenacity and dedication until her final days.
Katie is preceded in death by her parents and her cherished siblings: Corrine Williams (Cicero), Hilda Ann Amerson (Bill), Marvin Jr. (M.J.) Covington, and Prentice Johnson, who now welcome her with open arms.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts: her devoted husband Cardell Williams of Smithfield, NC; her children Roderick Williams (Rayshon) of Mechanicsburg, PA; Clara Williams, Jaleesa Lee, James Williams, and Kiana Williams, all of Smithfield, NC; and her six adoring grandchildren—Ja’kiyah Williams, Ryan Williams, Ryel Williams, Kaleigh Hilliard, Elijah Lee, and Sevynn Sinclair all who were the light of her life.
Katie’s warmth and kindness touched many lives, including her four sisters: Mary Elizabeth Covington of New Rochelle, NY; Catherine Johnson of Dunn, NC; Viola Johnson (Dewarren) Benson, NC; and Linda Williams of Selma, NC. She will also be remembered fondly by her godson, Rodney Jackson (Janella) of Clinton, NC, her mother-in-law Josephine Herring of Clayton, NC, and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, who provided her with love and support throughout her life.
