Princeton – Keith Gerald Woodard Sr., age 87, passed away Saturday August 10, 2024 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston. He was born in Johnston County on April 13, 1937 to the late David D. Woodard and Mary Edwards Woodard. In addition to his father and mother, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Sue Woodard (the light of his life) and a brother, Freddie Woodard.
The family will receive visitors at Rains Crossroads FWB Church on Wednesday August 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow the visitation in the church on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. A private burial will be held in Mont lawn Cemetery on Thursday.
Mr. Woodard is survived by his daughter, Brenda Norris and husband Charles of Grantsboro ; sons, David A. Woodard and wife Shari of Grantsboro, Keith “Jerry” Woodard Jr. and wife Barbara of Grantsboro; brothers, Melvin Woodard of Princeton and Eddie Woodard of Grantsboro; grandchildren, Beth, Michelle, Teresa, Keri, Keith III, Katelyn, Brianna, Lauryn, Morgan, Triston and Kaci; 15 great grandchildren.
Keith Sr. was a United States Army veteran and a member at Rains Crossroads FWB Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time working in the garden. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all his church family at Rains Crossroads FWB Church and to the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston for the care and compassion shown to him.
