Micro – Larry Nelson Holland, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in his home of Micro. Mr. Holland was born November 13, 1945 in Smithfield, NC to the late Gurtha Ballance Holland and Nelson Millard Holland. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Annette Bizzell Holland.
Mr. Holland retired after 38 years with NC DOT as an Assistant Resident Engineer and was presented “The Order of the Long Leaf Pine” from the State of North Carolina. He later returned to NC DOT and served an additional 16 years as a consultant in the Resident Engineer’s office. Mr. Holland was an avid fisherman for many years but his favorite activity was spending time with his grandkids, whom he loved dearly. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 2:00 pm. With the burial to follow in the Bizzell Family Cemetery in Princeton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Mr. Holland is survived by his sons; Jason Holland and wife Mandy of Micro and Jarrod Holland of Oak Island, three grandchildren; Leah Holland, Jordan Holland and Justin Holland. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins and many other family members.
