Mr. Larry Wayne Gaddis was born September 19, 1957 to the late Willie Lester Gaddis, and Grace Neal Gaddis in Johnston County, NC. The Lord called his servant home on February 29, 2024.
Larry graduated from Triple S High School in 1976. He attended Fayetteville Technical Community College, where he studied Funeral Service Education. He was employed at Peyton Funeral Home, Walt Sanders Funeral Home and Barnes Funeral Home before becoming a key component to Richard Harris Funeral Home now known as Harris-Wheless Memorial. Larry served with various other funeral homes as a highly esteemed professional. He also served with the United States Postal Service as a Truck Driver until his passing.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Willie L. Gaddis, his brother, Bobby E. ONeal, and his sister, Janice S. Gaddis.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Grace N. Gaddis of Smithfield, NC; four children, Larry Gaddis, Jr. of Clayton, NC; Larissa Addison of Lumberton, NC; Dexter Gaddis of Clayton, NC; Cedric Gaddis (Rebecca) of Clayton, NC. Grandchildren Jayla, Jazzlyn, Josiah, Kobe, and Rebecca. Siblings, Ronnie L. Gaddis of Smithfield, NC; George S. Gaddis (Fay) of Charlotte, NC; Gladys G. Thomas (Raymond) of Smithfield, NC; and Bengie L. Gaddis (Jennifer) of Smithfield, NC. Two aunts, Peggy Baker of Zebulon, NC and Betty Person of Smithfield, NC. A host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Larry also leaves behind a special group that he loved, “My Brothers Keeper” Corvette Club. His fellow members carried a special place in his heart.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Gaddis family.
Larry Gaddis is one of the finest men I’ve ever known. He served the community well and was regarded in the highest esteem by anyone who knew him. This is a shock and a big punch in the heart for all that knew Larry.
I’ve known Larry Gaddis for quite sometimes. He worked at my cousins funeral home (Walter Sanders Funeral Home) for quite sometime; before, going to work at another funeral home. He was one of the finest men and a very professional person carrying out his duties as a funeral director. May the GADDIS family find peace & comfort with GOD’S love & ever lasting presences.
