Lawrence Edward Marks

Smithfield – Lawrence Edward Marks, age 76, passed away Sunday August 2, 2026 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. He was born in Wake County on June 6, 1950. In addition to his father and mother, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Marks.

Per the request of Mr. Marks, no formal services are to be held. He will be laid to rest in Snow Hill cemetery beside his beloved Cathy.

He is survived by daughters, Sharon Taylor (Jeff) of Archers Lodge, Glenda Wade (Les) of Smithfield; son, Larry Marks Jr. of Raleigh; grandchildren, Kristen, Brittany, Andrew, Matthew, and Nick; great-grandchildren, Landan, Noah, and Grayson; beloved dog, “Bo Bo”.

Mr. Marks was an avid fisherman and loved to take care of his dog.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Parrish Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
