Mr. Lee Roy Raynor, age 82, of Raynor Road passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM-Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church in Benson. Revs. Sonny Morgan and Larry Stancil will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Raynor was born on August 11, 1939 in Johnston County to Oaklee and Callie Maude Raynor. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bevie Parker Raynor and nephew, Jeremy Dean McLamb. Mr. Raynor grew up farming and went on to work for the State of North Carolina and for McLamb’s LP Gas for over 60 years. After retirement from McLamb’s in 2015, he moved in with his mother and was one of her main caregivers.
Surviving include his mother, Maude Raynor of Benson; daughters, Laura Raynor of Benson, Sondra Bass and husband, Graham of Dunn, Gail Edwards and husband Jerry of Dunn, and Donna Barefoot and husband, Samuel of Benson; grandchildren, Tyler, Kasey and husband Colt, Lee, Sueanna, Michael, Tiffany and husband, Michael, Chad and wife, Lori, and Chris and wife, Jacqueline; 9 great grandchildren; brother, John Raynor and wife, Linda of Benson; sister, Nelda McLamb and husband, Graylon of Benson; many furbabies; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 1:30PM prior to the service in Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Sanctuary in Benson.
