Lena H Bailey, 3/6/1929-8/20/2024 – With heavy hearts, we sadly announce on August 20th, with her loving son by her side, the peaceful passing of Lena Bailey, 95, of Selma. After many years of faithful service to her Savior, she has gone to her heavenly reward.
Preceded in death by husbands, Herbert Morris, Norman Marlow and Ervin Bailey, and a son, Linwood Marlow, and granddaughter, Kacee Marlow. Ms. Lena, as she was so affectionately referred to, was an amazing daughter, wife, loving mother and grandmother and friend to so many. Due to her loving heart and positive outlook, she never met anyone she did not love and always shined for the Lord.
Ms. Lena was born in Harnett County to the late Nedglena Marlow and Edison Hodges. Ms. Lena was a resident of Barbour Court Assisted Living in Smithfield and a member of the Jubilee Church in Smithfield.
She is survived by her son, Johnny Morris, daughter, Cathy Morris, 3 granddaughters Lorri Crutchfield (Tommy), Allison Nunnally (Bob), and Cathryn Fernandez (Jose), 5 Great Grandsons, Taylor Cummings, Christopher Crutchfield, Brendan, and Cameron Todd, Jax Fernandez, Great granddaughter Reece Fernandez and Great Great grandson Avery Cummings. Ms. Lena is also survived by her extended family, Toni Ann Morris, and Lupe, Elizabeth, and Megan Ortiz, all of whom she adored.
The Funeral service will be held at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 1 pm. Ms. Lena will lie in state on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Her longtime pastor and friend, D. A. Leonard will conduct the funeral services.
