Leonard Michael “Mike” Lewis

Leonard Michael “Mike” Lewis, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in Smithfield Manor Nursing & Rehab. Born, June 1, 1951, in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Jack L. Lewis, Doris Johnson Lewis and stepfather or “bonus dad”, Fred Stokes.

Mike owned and operated Lewis Tree Service in excess of 60 years. He also served his country in the United States Coast Guard. Mike was preceded in death by both of his daughters, Brandy Suzanne Hawkins and Mica Jo Upchurch.

Mike is survived by his sister, Sandy Benson and her husband Ricky of Clayton; an array of cousins; and his adopted family, Barney and Eric.

A private service will take place at Lake Waccamaw, NC at a later date, where Mike was reared at the Boys Home of Lake Waccamaw.
