Lila “Lili” Ignacia Gimenez, age 62, peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
Born July 31, 1959 in Havana, Cuba, she immigrated with her family to the U.S. at the age of 3. Raised in Bronx, NYC, her childhood was spent surrounded by adoring family and extended family, all Cuban immigrants.
Her passions for people, travel and adventure led her to enjoy a successful career in real estate, working and residing in NC, then Florida.
Lili was full of laughter and leaves behind many family and friends who will remember her as an intelligent, wonderful mother, loving daughter, caring sister, devoted grandmother, fun aunt and cousin and a steadfast friend.
Daughter of the late Ramon and Lila Rosa Gimenez, Lili is survived by:
Her daughter, Lisette Jones and husband Damien; son, Joseph “Joey” Barella and wife Elizabeth Collman; brothers, Ray Gimenez and wife Mary Anne; Isaac “Izzy” Gimenez and wife Pamela; Clark Gimenez and wife Dana; grandchildren Harmony Jones and Talulah Barella.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 in the chapel: of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home, just prior to the service.
