Smithfield – Linda Woodall Gordon, age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 17, 2024, in her home of Smithfield. Born, August 21, 1943, in Wake County, she was a daughter of the late Eli M. Woodall and Leola Evans Woodall. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Solomon Gordon, and her brother Eugene Woodall.
Linda was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church and was very involved in the life of the church. She played the organ and piano for services, served as choir director and taught Sunday School, she was a very devoted member. Linda also enjoyed working in her flower gardens and crafting, but most of all she loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 22, at 9:00 a.m. at Pisgah Baptist Church in Smithfield with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the burial service.
She is survived by her daughters; Cathy Gordon of Smithfield, Kay Weaver (Gary) of Greenville, son, David Gordon of the home, brother, Charles E. Woodall (Martha) of Greenville, sister-in-law, Betty Sue Woodall of Smithfield, grandchildren, Matthew Weaver, Jacob Weaver (fiancée Samantha Smith) as well as many nieces and nephews.
