Linda Joann Capps

    Princeton – Linda Joann Phillips Capps, age 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in her home of fifty-seven years in Princeton. Born, April 3, 1948, in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late James R. Phillips and Drussie Deans Phillips. She is preceded in death by her husband of twenty-six years, William “Bill” R. Capps, and her sister, Brenda Barber.

    Linda was a member of Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church and she was strong in her faith. She was a simple, country lady. Linda loved helping people in need, always putting others needs before her own. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, crocheting, upholstery work and scrapbooking. She also loved peacocks, because of their beauty. Most of all she loved her family, her two sons and all her grandchildren were her life. Linda will be greatly missed by all her loving family and friends.

    Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with the burial to follow in Branch Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours before the service beginning at 1:00.

    She is survived by her sons; Russell Capps (Karen) of Princeton, William Kenneth “Ken” Capps (Robin) of Goldsboro, sister, Jean Campbell of Morganton, brother, Jim Phillips (Faye) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Harlie D. Capps, Thomas S. Gibson, Richard G. Saccucci, Chelsea Capps Chambliss, Joshua R. Capps, Jeremiah L. Capps; great-grandchildren, Ari Nelson, Bellamy Nelson, Cambree Gibson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
