Lloyd Allen Jackson

Lloyd Allen Jackson of House’s Mill Road, Newton Grove passed away peacefully on August, 6th in his home he loved surrounded by his devoted family. Lloyd was one week shy of 90 years old and a large surprise birthday party was planned for August 8th at Salem Pizza.

Lloyd married the love of his life Earline Maynard on September 7, 1956 and they were blessed to celebrate 67 years together. They traveled to numerous places including Hawaii, Alaska, and Niagara Falls. A special piece of their hearts was in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, Tennessee area frequenting Dollywood many times.

Lloyd worked with House Autry Mills, Inc., and continued working with them until his retirement after 55 years. Before and after retirement, Earline and Lloyd could be seen at the NC State Fair House-Autry section, frying up delicious hush puppies as they renewed old acquaintances and began new ones. He was known as the Hushpuppy King by many during the CB era.

Lloyd and Earline began attending Randall’s Chapel PFWB Church shortly after their marriage and it was their second home as they were truly there each time the door was open. They were the first to be there for a Loss or Celebration bringing Chocolate meringue pies, deviled eggs, chicken pastry and tea. Lloyd served as Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon and was instrumental in the planning and building of the fellowship hall and church renovations. He attended with several pastors and to each one he offered unfailing love, loyalty, knowledge and support. 

Lloyd gave his home and yard the same attention he gave to each detail of his life. It was a rarity to see pine straw or pine cones on his lawn but in the event it happened, it was for certain it wouldn’t be there long.  He was an avid Nascar fan and in his younger years attended numerous races and watched them faithfully. He always wanted a Ford to win.

Lloyd Allen and Earline never met a stranger. With a new introduction, very quickly, they’d make connections, and soon know them well and became instant friends and of course, they would invite them to Randall’s Chapel and McDonald’s or Hardee’s.

Lloyd was predeceased by his lovely wife and soulmate, Earline of 67 years, his parents, Bertha Mae and Jasper Jackson, sister, Agnes West, brother, Glen Jackson and in-laws, Cleo Johnson and Carliest Tilghman Maynard, grand fur dog, Grizzly and numerous cat companions all affectionately named Suzie. Baby dawg is his current fur baby.

Lloyd is survived by his daughter Beverly June Jackson and husband Michael Ray Hawley, sister Ann Chapman and Jerry Jackson and wife Elgie and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by special friends, Sandra and Doug Thornton and Brenda and Terry Maxwell.

Lloyd’s was a life of service to God and people. Wherever he went and whoever he touched, he was the highest level of an example of a genuine faith-filled life. Truly a pillar of strength and wisdom to his community and church.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Randall’s Chapel PFWB Church. Officiating will be his Pastor Horace Johnson and former pastors, Rev. Glenn McCullen and Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Newton Grove.
