Logan Zacharie Langston

    Logan Zacharie Langston, 27, of Newton Grove, passed away Wednesday, April 24th, 2024. He was born on December 14 th, 1996 in Wayne County to Michael and Tangie Langston. He was a beloved and wonderful husband, son, grandson, brother, cousin, and friend. He was a teacher and coach with a deep love of football. Throughout his childhood he played football, from flag football all the way through his senior year at Hobbton High School. He was an avid hunter, recently finishing a record deer season with the largest harvest of the Langston crowd.

    Logan graduated from Hobbton High School in 2015 and then went on to attend the University of Mount Olive graduating with a Bachelors of Science in History Education. He was an 8thgrade teacher at Hobbton Middle School for four years and served as the Offensive Coordinator of the Hobbton High School Football team. He was a hardworking individual whose dedication to his profession was felt by his students and players.

    Logan was married to his long-time, high school sweetheart, MiKayla McLamb Langston on April 23rd, 2022. After spending over 10 years together, they formed a loving and strong partnership and made their home in Newton Grove. Logan was a proud soon to be father, expecting twins in December of 2024.

    A lifelong member of Stewart’s Chapel PFWB Church in Four Oaks. He was a member of the youth group in his childhood and continued to serve faithfully in the congregation.

    He is preceded in death by his cousin, Adam Murphy. In addition to his wife MiKayla and parents Michael and Tangie, he is survived by brother, Landen Langston, grandparents, Virgil and Linda Murphy of Dunn and Freddy and Dale Langston of Newton Grove. In-laws, Scott and Amanda McLamb of Clinton and brother-n-law Jackson McLamb; Uncles and Aunts, Jerry and Amy Murphy, Wayne and Rhonda Langston, Rod and Lisa Murphy all of Newton Grove; cousins, Jesse, Treavor, Jarrett, Tray, Justin and Holt.
