Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Lola Mae Snead Rhodes, age 97, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Smithfield Manor Nursing home in Smithfield surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 4:00PM at Stewart’s Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Four Oaks. Rev. Freddy Wayne Langston will officiate. Burial will follow in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Four Oaks.
Mrs. Rhodes was born on May 12, 1925 in Johnston County, NC to the late Walter Robert and Rovella Hayes Snead. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Rhodes; son, Thomas R. Rhodes; grandson, Johnny Blackmon; sister, Virginia S. Batten; and brothers, Franz Snead, Dwight Snead, Howard Snead, and Kermit Snead. Mrs. Rhodes was a homemaker and attended Stewart’s Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Four Oaks.
Surviving include her sons, Gerald Rhodes and wife, Nadine, Danny Rhodes and wife, Jo Ann all of Four Oaks; daughter-in-law, June Rhodes of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Susie Bunn, Jeremy Rhodes and wife, Suzanne, Thomas Haywood Rhodes and wife, Virginia, Cindy R. Wilkins and husband, Justin, Heather R. Pope and husband, Patrick; great-grandchildren, Ashley Yu and husband, Liya, Nickolas Currens and wife, Megan, Taylor Hill and husband, Daniel, Caleb Rhodes, Jonah Rhodes, Matthew Rhodes, Savannah Wilkins, Micha Wilkins, Eva Grace Pope, Emmett Pope, and Eisley Pope; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Robert H. Snead and wife, Adele of Ft. Mead, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:45 PM to 3:45 PM on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Stewart’s Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church prior to the service and other times at the home of Gerald and Nadine Rhodes.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
