Goldsboro – Louise Edwards Sutton, age 86, died Sunday morning in Wayne UNC Health Care. Born December 3, 1935 in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ida Hatcher Edwards and she was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Dickinson and Cleo Sutton and sister, Hilda Edwards Taylor.
Louise was a secretary for many years in and around Selma, first with Floyd C. Price, Castleberry Oil Company and retired from Eaton Corporation. She was a lifelong member of Selma Pentecostal Holiness Church but was attending The First Church in Goldsboro after marrying Mr. Cleo Sutton in 2006.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2022 in the Crocker Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 p.m. just prior to the service at the Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
Surviving are her sister, Frances E. Radford of Smithfield; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Denny and Linda Sutton of Goldsboro and Lorraine Sutton of Wilmington; nephews, Eugene Radford of Garner and Franklin R. “Russ” Taylor and wife Marcelle of Wilson and niece, Debbie R. Green and husband Staley of Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to The First Church, 1100 The First Church Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
