Kenly – Lula Belle Berry Little, 85, peacefully departed this life and joyously entered her eternal reward on Friday, June 9, 2023. She was born in Wayne County to the late Rodney and Ila Gurley Berry. In addition to her parents, Belle was preceded in death by her first husband, W.C. Fitzgerald; son, Rodney Fitzgerald; and brothers, Leslie Berry and David Berry; sister, Julia Crumpler.
After completing her degree in Home Economics, Belle became a beloved Home Economics teacher with Johnston County Schools where she devoted her life to children for 35 years. She is still remembered by many for teaching her students many life skills.
A longtime member of Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church, Belle faithfully served her Lord through playing the organ and other ministries of the church. In her later years, she joined Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church where her work for the Lord continued. She looked forward to every church service where she could offer praise to the Lord and reconnect with her church family.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Belle’s life at 2:00 PM in the chapel with Rev. Todd Sutton officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Princeton, NC.
Belle is survived by her loving husband, Billy Ray Little. Children: Darryl Little and wife Melissa, Jimmy Little and wife Paula, Dana Jara and husband Marc, and Debbie Outlaw; daughter in law, Kathy Bleke and husband Scott; sisters Louise Phillips, and Margaret Radford and husband Maurice; and many nieces, nephews, and so many others that she loved very much.
She shared a special love with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Two very special grandchildren were fortunate to have a very special bond with their Grandmother, Mackenzie Little and Tommy Little.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to Holly Springs F.W.B. Church, 80 Beulahtown Rd, Kenly, NC 27542.
