Mr. Luther Ray Jackson, age 79, of Railroad Street, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC. Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM-Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks, NC. Officiating will be Pastor Stewart Dove. Burial will follow in Hills of Neuse Memory Gardens in Smithfield, NC.
Mr. Jackson was born on January 22, 1943 in Johnston County to the late Louis Martin and Callie Cornelia Peeden Jackson. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Marie Jackson; granddaughter, Jana Marie Jackson; grandson, Johnny Lee Jackson, sisters, Helen Odom and Joyce Byrd; and brothers, Jerry Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, Johnny Mac Jackson, Charles Jackson, and Larry Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was a commercial painter prior to retirement.
Surviving include his children, Luther Ray Jackson, Jr. and wife, Liza, Sherry Capps and husband, Rick; Frances Jackson, and Carol Johnson and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Chris Flowers, Michael Flowers, Heather Jackson, Louis Jackson, Hope Jackson, Melissa Beasley, Brian Howell, Derek Wilson, and Jordan Wilson; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Ann Parrish and Brenda Woodard and husband, Robert; brother, Aaron Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 1:30PM-2:30PM, Thursday prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home of Sherry and Rick Capps.
