Lynn Leggett Shaver Lewis

Lynn Leggett Shaver Lewis, age 70, died Saturday, October 3, 2026 at her home in Smithfield, NC. She was born July 1, 1956 in Martin County, NC to the late Turner Carter Leggett, Jr. and Fannie Elizabeth Bowen Leggett. Lynn worked for many years as the office manager at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Raleigh and was a former member of Sharon Baptist Church in Smithfield. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 24th in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the Mr. Todd Johnson officiating. There will be a reception following the service from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Smithfield Recreation & Aquatics Center (SRAC), 600 M. Durwood Stephenson Parkway, Smithfield, NC 27577.

Surviving are her sons, Travis Lee Shaver and Eric Matthew Shaver and his wife Melanie Shaver all of Garner; her companion, Rick Lasarsky of Smithfield; brother, Turner Carlyle Leggett (Margaret) of Clarksville, VA; sisters, Susan Taylor, Richie Cumbea, her twin, Lue Gaudlitz (Gordon) and Margaret “Liz” Himes all of Chesterfield, VA; grandchildren, Danessa Whitley, Leanna Whitley, Jordan Shaver, Sadie Shaver and Elowyn Shaver and great grandchildren, Liam Valentin, Delilah Valentin and Layla Worney.

Flowers are welcome and will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Johnston County Animal Shelter or the American Cancer Society.
