Smithfield, NC: Mrs. Mabelean Jernigan Ramsey, age 84, of Rand Street passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at her residence. Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Piney Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Percy Hartley.
Mrs. Ramsey was born on October 31, 1939 in Johnston County, NC to the late, Willie E. and Ella Mae Messer Jernigan. She was preceded in death by her sister, Bessie Baker and her brother, Junius L. Jernigan. She retired from Burlington Mills in Smithfield. Mrs. Ramsey loved to work in her yard and flower gardens.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Chris Ramsey of Smithfield; nephews, Billy Ray Baker of Lexington, NC and William Baker of Trinity, NC; nieces, Diane Barnes of Lexington, NC and Shirley Hauser of Cedar Falls, NC.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
