Selma- Mac Curtis Lawhorn, age 51, passed away on January 20, 2022 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. Born in Smithfield on February 22, 1970, he was a son to Sam Lawhorn Jr. and the late Brenda Kaye Peterson Lawhorn.
Mac never met a stranger and was a dear friend to many. He loved his cats and he loved trains. Mac enjoyed the Selma Railroad Festival and loved to watch trains any chance he got. He also enjoyed watching his favorite shows, the Andy Griffith Show, The Waltons, MASH, and church services on TV. Mac was loved dearly and will be missed by many friends and family.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Butler family cemetery.
The public may come to pay respects to Mac or sign his register book on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 between 12:00 PM-5:00 PM at Parrish Funeral Home.
Mac is preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Kaye Peterson Lawhorn.
He is survived by his father, Sam Lawhorn Jr. of Selma; and brother, Ralph Lee Lawhorn of Selma.
