Benson, NC: Mrs. Margaret Strickland Hobbs, age 79, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM-Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Rayford McLeod will officiate. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC.
Mrs. Hobbs was born on June 3, 1943 in Harnett County, NC to the late Charles Preston and Esther Addison Strickland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Gayle Hobbs, sister, Virginia Adams, brothers, Charles Strickland, Eddie Strickland, Ronnie Strickland and Rickie Strickland. She was a 1963 graduate of John Nichols High School at Oxford Orphanage in Oxford, NC. Mrs. Hobbs was a homemaker, and worked with Block Industries and Morganite.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Robert Hobbs and wife, Rev. Terry Hobbs of Goldsboro, NC; and Dorene H. Creech and husband, Shannon of Benson; grandchildren, Peyton Creech and Holden Creech; sisters, Pauline Nance of Trinity, Gail Dupree and husband Johnnie of Ayden; brother, Benjamin Tripp and wife, Patsy of Erwin; and sister-in-law, Joyce Strickland of Benson, NC; many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:30PM-2:45PM, Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home of Dorene H. and Shannon Creech 1434 Old Barbour Road, Benson, NC 27504.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
