Margarita Yap Revell

    Margarita Yap Revell, age 88, went to be with Jesus on July 30, 2022, while at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born on the Island of Luzon, Philippines on February 20, 1935, she was the only surviving child of 13 siblings -7 brothers and 6 sisters.

    Margarita arrived in the United States in 1955. She self-taught herself to speak and write the English Language. Margarita loved the Lord, and her passion was singing. Her favorite artist was Elvis Presley, which she listened to daily. Her favorite song by Elvis was “Love Me Tender”. She also sang on a daily basis “The Star Spangle Banner”. Most of all, Margarita loved her family dearly and enjoyed being a mother to her 5 children, grandmother to 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

    She was a long time resident of Selma, before residing at Smithfield Manor Nursing and Rehab.

    A funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., just prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Selma Memorial Gardens.

    Surviving are Donald Thomas Revell of Selma, John William Revell of Selma, Joyce Revell Lassiter and husband Jimmy Lassiter of Princeton, Phillip Robert Revell and wife Mylinda Tedder Revell of Selma, David Revell of Newton Grove.
