Willow Spring, NC: Mrs. Marie Allen Tart, age 94, of Bay Springs Court passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Graveside Funeral Services will be held-2:00 PM Monday, September 16, 2024 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Durham. Officiating will be Rev. Rudy Halstead.
Mrs. Tart was born on November 29, 1929 in Johnston County to the late Donnie C. and Ila Barefoot Allen. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Tart. Prior to retirement, she was a secretary for an insurance company. She loved to visit with friends and family and enjoyed shopping, especially at Belk’s. Mrs. Tart also loved music, especially old country and gospel. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Surviving are her children, Donnie Tart and wife, Vanessa and Shelia Geisler; grandchildren, Jonathan Geisler, Jennifer Geisler, and Kristi Genopolos; brother, Roy Wade Allen; as well as several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
