Marie Antonia Armona

Marie Antonia Prudenti Armona, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at her home in Smithfield, NC. Born on March 30, 1942 in Newark, NJ., she was the daughter of the late Donato and Angelina Fiorello Prudenti.

Marie grew up in Little Falls, NJ and moved to North Haledon, NJ when she first got married to her husband of 66 years, Fred. She was a mother of four. John Armona and wife Diane, Daniel Armona and wife Gloria, Donna Haudek and husband Bill and Paula Aldighieri. She spent those years raising her kids in Pompton Lakes, NJ. She was a wonderful grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Whoever knew Marie loved her and her beautiful smile. She loved being a girl scout leader for many years and the kids loved her back.

She loved watching her children and grandchildren in all their sports. Hardly ever missing any. Marie really enjoyed watching her son play football and was always there with a goody bag of snacks. She was called Mrs. Goodie.

Marie loved camping with her husband, family and friends. She always loved a good time with family and friends to BBQ’s, beefsteaks, Halloween parties, New Year Eve parties. She never wanted to miss one. Marie was a long time Giants fan and loved going to games and tailgating.

Marie was deeply loved by so many and will be missed. She is survived by her husband, Frederick Armona, her 4 children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 13, 2025 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, NC

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Johnston County Animal Shelter, 115 Shelter Way, Smithfield, NC 27577.
