Angier, NC: Mrs. Marie Jones, age 90, of Pleasant Pine Drive passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Barbour Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Smithfield surrounded by her loving family. Family will hold services at a later date.
Mrs. Jones was born on September 16. 1932 in Craven County to the late Thomas and Esther Doris Patterson McCaffity. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jean McCaffity Cajero. Mrs. Jones retired from the North Carolina Department of Mental Health with Durham County. She was an avid reader and loved to travel and visited six out of seven continents.
Survivors include her children, Karen Marie Jones Boling of Angier, Sharon Elaine Jones Ray and husband, Joseph of Little River, SC, Wilton Collins “Corky” Jones, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Ginifer Christen Wilkins, Melissa Marie Bridges, Seth Lucas Jones; great-grandchildren, Kouren David Artis, Jackson Cole Wilkins, Julia Christen Wilkins, Chloe Ann Bridges, Mason Lee Bridges; brother, Thomas Michael McCaffity and wife, Diane of Pollocksville, NC; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to your local Salvation Army.
