Coats, NC: Mr. Marvin Marcus Meadows, age 90, of Carson Gregory Road passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held-11:00 AM Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Coats, NC. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier, NC.
Mr. Meadows was born on September 19, 1932 in Jones County, NC to the late George Dewey and Alice Morton Meadows. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fernie Ellen Pope Meadows; grandsons, Gary Meadows, Jr. and Clay Meadows; and brothers, George Meadows, Colon Meadows, and John Meadows. Marvin loved family, farming and driving the tractor. He got much enjoyment from seeing his grandkids and over the years taught many local young people how to do a good and honest day’s work and he worked patiently to see that they learned to do it right.
He is survived by his children, Deborah Meadows Ruffin and husband, David of Havelock, Janice Westbrook and husband, Gene of Coats, Karen Lucas and husband Glenn of Coats, Gary Meadows and wife, Shelia of Coats, and Daryl Meadows and wife, Amy of Coats; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brothers, Sam Meadows, William Meadows, and Robert Meadows; sisters, Mary Alice Stephenson and Joyce Willis; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
