Mary Joyner Hill

Mary Joyner Hill, 94, of Hillsborough passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 at UNC Hospital of Hillsborough. Born on June 6, 1931 in Wayne County to the late Charlie Randolph Joyner and Myrtie Daniels Joyner. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Louise Joyner Brown, Willie Mintz Joyner, Carlotta Joyner Jones, CR Joyner, Lillian Joyner Raynor, and Danselene Joyner Uzzell.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Hill Cemetery on Alex Benton Road.

In her younger years, she spent her time and talent as a hairdresser doing hair for many years until she retired. In her later years, before her stroke, she worked at a rest home taking care of others with love and compassion.

She was a woman who was devoted to God, and would always be up at 1:00 AM just make sure that she didn’t miss the Jimmy Swaggart Classics. She enjoyed listening to sermons on her tablet.

Mary was a loving mother who always had smiles and hug ready for everyone. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved them dearly.

She is survived and loved by her daughter, Debbie Carter of Hillsborough; grandson, Adam Carter (Misty) of Newton Grove; granddaughter, Angie Parmer of Trenton; great grandchildren, Adalynn, Olivia, Penelope, Dylan, Richard and Wesley.

She will be greatly missed.
