Melvin C. Tart, age 85, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Melvin was born February 7, 1936 in Wake County to the late Henry and Etta Smith Tart. A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 2:00pm in Mausoleum of Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at McLaurin Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Hurt Tart; daughter, Shelia Ross; son, Jeff Tart; grandchildren, Miles Tart, Hunter Tart, Sarah Ross. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Bradley Tart, Coddie Tart, Red Tart, Coy Tart, Delmar Tart, John Henry Tart; sisters, Lilly Spence, Iva Barham, Thelma Lee, Ethel Allen and Ithel Wall.
