Michael Allen Sumner

Cary – Michael Allen Sumner, age 47, passed away Sunday April 5, 2026 at Wake Med Cary Hospital. He was born on October 18, 1978 in Greenbrier, WV to the late Robert Edward Sumner and Brenda Joyce Davis Sumner.

A graveside service will be held in Riverside cemetery in Smithfield at 1:00 PM on Friday April 10, 2026, with pastor Danny Collins and David Sutphin officiating.

He is survived by his brothers, Robert Steven Sumner and David Carl Sumner; daughter Abigail Louise Sumner.

He loved to hunt, fish and work on cars. He attended West Virginia University Institute of Technology where received his electrical engineering degree.
