Myrtle Mae Sauls, age 81, passed Saturday, January 8, 2022 at her home. Born April 7, 1940 in North Carolina she was the daughter of the late George and Myrtle Holloman. She was preceded in death by her husband Guy Ray Sauls, daughter Jackie Bangert; brothers, George “Buck” Holloman and Marshall Holloman; sisters, Venita Stallings, Marguerite Alley and Peggy Thompson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the burial to follow at a later date.
Myrtle retired from Phillip Morris where she worked for years along side her beloved husband Ray. She was the loving mother of Jackie and Gary and a caring grandmother to Chastity and Joshua and a great- grandmother. Myrtle spent her time between her home in Mechanicsville, VA, and her summer home at Chesapeake Bay, where she loved to fish, go boating, sunbathe and would cook the most incredible fish dinners you have ever had. Their home was always full of fun, music and laughter. She was an incredible hostess; whose door was always open to family and friends. She loved to sing while Ray played the guitar and she enjoyed traveling. To know Myrtle was to love her, she was a good-hearted person with a lot of style and just as much sass. She loved all of her family and loved her friends like they were family. She was the “finest kind”.
Surviving are her son, Gary Sauls; son in law William Bill Bangert; grandchildren, Chastity Baldwin and Joshua Bangert; great grandchildren, Jeremy Baldwin, Addisyn Seay, Ethan Bangert, Makayla Bangert and Sedastian Bangert; siblings, Russell Holloman of Selma, Larry Holloman of Selma, Brenda Sue Snodgrass of Wake Forest, Linda Rose Edwards of Calabash, Mary Holloman McDaniels of Selma, and Bernice Ray Holloman (Debbie) of Selma.
