Nancy Wellons Wynn Adkins, 77, peacefully passed away at home on March 14, 2025, following an extended and courageous struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on July 27, 1947, to William and Emily (Wellons) Wynn, she was the widow of Carlton Dean Adkins, whom she married on July 7, 1973.

She is survived by her brother, William “Bill” Wynn, and sister-in-law, Susan Wynn, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; her sons, Christopher Adkins of Smithfield and Wyn Adkins of Appleton, Wisconsin; and her granddaughter, Natalia Adkins of Merritt Island, Florida.
The family expresses profound gratitude for the exceptional care provided by Nancy’s caregivers, Lina Auber, Patrice Sidney, Pam Thomas, Julie McNeil, and Ann Collier of Wilkins and Wellons for her supervision.
A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, March 22, at 12:00 PM at 500 Wellons Road in Smithfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research either online or P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
