Ollie I Moss

    Ollie “Mae” Moss, age 92, of Erwin, NC went to her heavenly home on Friday, September 27th, 2024 while at Oak Forest Health and Rehab Center in Winston Salem, NC.

    Ollie was born in Harnett County, Erwin, NC and was the daughter of the late Wiley C. Ivey (Buddy) and Myrtice S. Ivey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James H. Moss; by brothers Lloyd Ivey, Floyd Ivey, and Sherrill Ivey; Nephew Kenny Ivey.

    She was a high school graduate and had a flair for reading, baking, and giving of herself to her family, friends, and all who had the distinct privilege of knowing her. Her nieces and nephews felt her warmth and love. Her greatest loves were her heavenly father and her two sons, Timothy and Steve and her grandson, Alex.

    Ollie was an active member of the Erwin Church of God where she was a member of the senior adult Sunday school class, women’s ministries, as well as the Young at Heart. As a Young at Heart member, she enjoyed traveling to musicals, dinners, and other events across the United States.

    Ollie is survived by her sons, Steve and wife Michele; Timothy Moss “Tim” and wife Letitia Moss “Cookie” of Erwin, NC; grandson Alex; Sisters-In-Law Sue Ivey (husband late Lloyd Ivey) of Erwin, NC; Peggy Ivey (husband late Sherrill Ivey) of Erwin, NC; Nieces Michelle Burgess and husband Fred of Lillington, NC; Patricia Graves and husband Billy of Erwin, NC; Marilyn Quinn and husband Danny of Vanceboro, NC; Nephews Michael Ivey and wife Lynette of Pikeville, NC; John Ivey of Erwin, NC; David Ivey of Eastover, NC; James Ivey and wife Sharon of Avalon, NC; Nephew’s wife Rhonda Ivey (husband late Kenny Ivey); Great-Nieces Ivey Andrews of Vanceboro, NC; Autri Parrish and husband Kyle of Godwin, NC; Sara Margaret Ivey of Pikeville, NC; Kathryn Willett and husband Erik of Ohio; Emily Ivey of Eastover, NC; Ashley Cribb and husband Donald of Benson, NC; Great-Nephews Dustin Ivey and wife Maddison of Erwin, NC; Steven of Lillington, NC; Ken Ivey of Greenville, NC; James Ivey Jr. of Connecticut; great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

    The Ollie I. Moss family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1st from 1:30 until 2:45 pm at the West and Dunn, now Dunn Funeral Home located at 904 Lucas Street in Erwin, NC 28339. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm in the Dunn Funeral Home of Erwin Chapel with burial following at the Erwin Memorial Park Cemetery at 506 West A Street, Erwin, NC 28339.
