    Patricia Blaszek Kerbe 1947-2023

“Patt” was one of five daughters born to Stanley Thomas Blaszek and Mary Margaret Kane. She was born in Washington, D.C., lived in Buffalo, New York during her early years, and grew up in Kensington, Maryland.

Patt enjoyed a successful career as a sales representative for Silhouette Optical Company, headquartered in Austria. For many of her years with Silhouette, she was the leading sales person in the United States for the company. Patt made many life-long friends at Silhouette and traveled regularly to Europe in her capacity as a sales rep for them. She most enjoyed, however, her regular contacts with her long-term customers on the east coast.

Upon retirement, she moved to North Carolina where she built her home on Lake Magnolia in Smithfield. She served as a popular volunteer at Johnston County Hospital for more than ten years, and retired from the hospital when the Covid virus caused necessary restrictions. She maintained her many friendships from the hospital staff and volunteers. During her time in North Carolina, Patt devoted herself to landscaping and planting at her home and around the community. She was a talented artist, and avid reader, and a spirited collector of fine antique pieces.

Patt is survived by her four sisters: Ronni Gilbarte, Terri Lloyd, Barbara Abner (Alan), and Mary Ellen Murphy, as well as 11 nieces and nephews and 37 great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of a memorial celebration, Patt chose to spend the final two months of her life visiting with close friends and family to say goodbye and “I Love You”. It can be said that she lived her life to the fullest.
