Paul Devon Dorman Jr.

Paul Devon Dorman Jr., 62, of Smithfield passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 8, 2025. He was born in Dunn on July 23, 1963, to the late Paul Devon Dorman Sr. and Shirley Johnson Dorman of Smithfield. He was preceded in death by his sister, Tracey Lynn Dorman.
The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Tuesday November 11, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday November 12, 2025 at Centenary UMC in Smithfield. Burial will take place on Wednesday at 1:00 pm in Erwin Memorial Park.
Paul attended North Carolina State University and was an employee of Shallco, Inc. for 40 years. He was a devoted son, father, and grandfather, always happy to help family and friends. He was a proud member and Past Master of Fellowship Lodge #84 (1991), a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Raleigh, in addition to the Johnston County Shrine Club.
In his spare time, Paul enjoyed cooking for his family and friends (playing cornhole and hosting an annual oyster roast), camping trips with his partner Karie, and spending time with his granddaughter, Lola (especially cheering at all her T-ball games). He was a dedicated fan of the Washington Redskins and had season tickets to NC State football and basketball games for many years. Paul was an avid golfer who enjoyed frequent golf trips to New York and South Carolina with his son, Trey, and many friends.
Paul is survived by his mother, Shirley Dorman, his daughter Juliette Stewart (husband, Daniel) and granddaughter, Lola, of Raleigh, his son Paul “Trey” Devon Dorman III of Smithfield, brother Scott Dorman, partner Karie Exum of Smithfield, and former wife and friend Pamela Phillips of Selma.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or Centenary United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in Paul’s memory.
