Paul Junior Newcomb, age 81, devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Born September 10, 1940 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Lecko Young and Flonnie Glover Newcomb. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ethel Weaver, Margaret Martin and Ruby Cooke; and brothers, Bill Newcomb and Dennis Newcomb.
Paul was a member of Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church where he held many positions, including Deacon, Superintendent and Usher. Paul also was a member of the Selma Masonic Lodge #320, Eastern Star # 209 and a Cub Scout leader. Paul retired from both Jerald and Eaton Corporation and was a retired volunteer from Pine Level Fire Department.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Ferrell Hardison and Pastor Larry Winters officiating. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery in Pine Level. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday just prior to the service at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Sarah Baker Newcomb; son, Michael Newcomb and wife Amber of Princeton; brother, Bruce Newcomb and wife Joan; granddaughter, Britney Barbour and husband Austin; stepgrandchildren, April Dustan and husband Al, Autumn Boswell and husband Brian, Ashley Zuege and husband Jaron and Abigail Southerland and husband Christopher; twelve great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special nephew, Scott Baker and wife Annessa.
