Pearl C. Gainey age 93 of Dunn, passed away in the early morning hours on December 17, 2023. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Spring Branch Baptist Church, Dunn, N.C. beginning at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at West & Dunn Funeral Home of Erwin from 6 till 8 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev’s. Tim McQueen and John McCray will be officiating the service.
Pearl was a hard working honest lady. She was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church for 50 plus years. Most important in her life was the Lord, her family and friends. She could out work anyone in a heartbeat, she still used a push mower to mow her grass. She will truly be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Coolidge Gainey, sons; Gale Gainey, David Ray Gainey, Grandsons, Evan Gainey and Justin Gainey and her sister, Kathryn Ennis.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Sherrill Gainey and wife Lettie of Dunn, Donna Sue Owen and husband Bob of Dunn. Grandchildren; Sherrill Gainey, Jr. of Dunn, Eric Gainey and wife Christie of Dunn and Brittney Britt and husband Allen of Newton Grove. Great Grandchildren; Anderson Gainey and Callen Britt.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to 3HC Hospice, the staff of Harnett Woods Nursing Center and her caregiver, Barbara Godwin and Louise Dale for sitting with her.
