Preston Medlin, Jr. (Junior), 76, of Four Oaks passed away, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Wake Med in Raleigh surrounded by family. Born, January 18, 1949, in Johnston County, he was the first son of Preston Medlin, Sr. and Ora Gladys Bean Medlin. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his sisters, Shirley Medlin Johnson and Geraldine Medlin Jernigan; and his beloved furry companion, Burney.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Dianne Parker Medlin; daughters, Ami Modlin (Jason) and Keri Medlin (Phil Heath); granddaughters, Caroline, Ashleigh, and Elisabeth Modlin; brothers, Larry (Doris Ann) and Donald (Joanne); and brothers-in-law, Raeford Johnson and Sammy Jernigan (deceased).

He leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and unwavering faith. Known for his outgoing personality and kind heart, Preston never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, Daddy, father-in-law, PaPa, devoted brother, and cherished uncle. He enjoyed being outside, making things with his hands, and caring for others. He was a dedicated employee at various building material suppliers and the Department of Correction.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 5:00 to 6:45 p.m., followed at 7:00 p.m. by a Celebration of Life Service in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks, NC.
