Benson, NC: Mr. Randy Thomas Stephenson, age 73 of S. Lincoln Street passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Graveside Services will be 10:00AM Tuesday, July 1, 2025 in the Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Rev. Will Raybon will officiate. Family will receive friends following the graveside service.

Mr. Stephenson was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Meadows Stephenson and his parents, Laurie and Johnny Stephenson, and his father-in-law, Robert Meadows. He is survived by son, John Robert Stephenson and daughter-in-law, Sharon Stephenson, mother-in-law, Mary Meadows, Timothy Stephenson, brother, Jeff Stephenson, brother, Sue Stephenson Wood, sister and John W. Wood III, brother-in-law; Edith Meadows Elmore, sister-in-law, and William Elmore, brother-in-law.

Randy graduated in the first graduating class of South Johnston High School in 1970 and from the University of North Carolina in 1974. He married Bonnie, the sunshine of his life later that same year. In 1980 Randy became a proud father when John Robert was born.

Upon graduation, Randy worked in the family automotive business. He went on to become a real estate broker and a general contractor. He built many homes in Benson that will be a continuing reminder of Randy’s impact on his community. He served on various town committees and as president of the Benson Chamber of Commerce.
