Randy William Allen, 64, of Dunn, NC, passed away May 25, 2024, from complications of a stroke and stage 5 kidney disease at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
Randy was born on December 15, 1959, in Erwin, NC. He was the youngest of four boys of Randell (“Toby”) Allen and Arlene (“Daisy”) Allen. They lived in Dunn all of their lives.
Randy attended Coats High School and graduated both years of 1975 and 1976. At the age of 14, he learned how to operate heavy equipment. He later became a heavy equipment operator, a welder and then a lineman working for T & D Solutions LLC, an electrical utilities company based in Kinston, NC.
He was a man of many talents but a master of none! Randy enjoyed spending time with his buddies, fishing, hunting, and watching his grandchildren’s games. His favorite hangouts included his friends’ houses, Bass Country Store on 27 Hwy., and Sharon Harris Lake. There was nowhere Randy went that he didn’t know someone. Never a home body, he always had someone to visit or hangout with.
Randy is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn Allen; his daughter, Sarah Allen (Jesus Padilla Sr.); a son, Toby Allen (Hannah); stepdaughter, Nobie Comer (Eric); grandchildren, Christopher Maynor (Kate), Taylor Jones, Jordan Jones, Ashley Barefoot, Jesus Padilla Jr., Colton Allen and Easton Allen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Randell Eldridge “Toby” and Arlene Howard “Daisy” Allen; and brothers, Ronald E. Allen, Donald R. Allen, and Ricky L. Allen.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 6:00PM at the West and Dunn Funeral Home Chapel in Benson.
