Raymond Harold Cuddington, age 76, of Kenly, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Born on August 20, 1946, he was the son of the late Raymond Brantley and Verna Parrish Cuddington. He was also preceded in death by his brother George and his wife Ann Cuddington, his sister Gould Wood and her husband Clayvon; and his niece Amy Cuddington Mitchell.
Harold graduated from Princeton High School in 1967. He joined the United States Army in December 1967 and was discharged in July of 1969. Harold, also known as “Cuz”, was a tanker driver for Ace Transport for 20 years, until he became disabled in 2005. Harold never met a stranger. He loved cooking chickens and pigs for his family and friends. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. They were the light of his life. Harold had been sick for many years but he was a fighter until the end.
Harold leaves behind his wife, the love of his life for the past 35 years, Patricia Weaver Cuddington; his son Jason Cuddington (Sherrie) of Selma; his daughters, Lori Paul (Jeff) of Kenly, Ashley Brook Cuddington (Steven) of the home, Logan Shearin (Troy) of Louisburg; ten grandchildren, Justin Paul (Amanda), Luke Cuddington, Marlee Cuddington, Makenzie Paul, Josie Medlin, Harper Cuddington, Myles Shearin, Hensley Stanley, Tucker Shearin, and Hadley Stanley; two great grandchildren, Maesi Paul and Kylie Paul; several nieces, nephews and in-laws; his sitter Deena Long (whom he loved dearly); and a host of friends who have become family over the years.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Parrish Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
A special Thanks to Deena Long, who loved and cared for Harold sing December, Antioch First Responders, Johnston County EMS, Dr. Shahida and Staff, Dr. Janis and Staff, 3HC Home Health, PT & OT and Johnston Wound Center.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home on Friday, April 21, from 1-2 pm followed by funeral service at 2:00pm. Rev. Dennis Pollock will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the cemetery at New Jerusalem FWB Church near Kenly.
