Richard London Creech, 80, of Micro passed away on July 24, 2024. He was born in Ayer, Massachusetts, to Oscar E. Creech and Olive I. Creech. He was the second oldest of 11 children and graduated from Smithfield High School. In 1968, Richard married the tall, beautiful love of his life, whom he fell in love with instantly. He owned his own business, Creech Electric Motor Service. He was a licensed electrician, worked as a county building inspector, and finally worked with his brothers at Creech Electric before his retirement.
Richard could fix any and everything. He was an avid reader and student of the Bible. He enjoyed metal detecting at the beach, and in the Bentonville area for civil war artifacts. In response to his faith, he spent time serving his community by cooking and delivering meals weekly to the sick and shut in.
“Pa Richard,” as he was lovingly referred to after the arrival of his grandchildren, is perhaps best known for the Saturday morning, special occasion, and holiday breakfasts that he made to order. These ranged from sausage-and-eggs- scrambled-together to French toast, waffles to grits with country ham and red-eye gravy, and fried egg sandwiches to bacon and toast. Any and everyone was welcome at his table and there was always plenty of coffee too.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, June Mayo Creech and their three daughters, Michelle Ball (Jerry), Valerie Vann (Allen), and Jessica Wilkins (Brian); his grandchildren, Sydney Holmes (Michael), Ashley Ball, Christina Ball, Edward Ball, Logan Vann and Chloe Vann; his great-grandchildren, Levi Ball, Chandler Holmes, and Teaghan Wineman; his siblings, Oscar E. Creech, Jr. (Joyce), Vivian Whitley, Kenneth Creech (Ann), Johnny Creech (Sharlon), Dedee Bailey, Selma Piper (Danny), Arthur Creech (Mary), Charlie Creech, Jerry Jo Creech, and Don Creech (Sharon); his brother-in-law, Connie Mayo (Connie); his uncle, Dixon Hill (Jean); and so many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be at Micro Original Free Will Baptist Church at 1 pm, immediately followed by a celebration of this life at 2 pm. Private burial will be at Selma Memorial Gardens.
