Mr. Robert Earl Jones age 82 of Clinton passed away at Transitions Life Care of Raleigh on August 29, 2023. His funeral service will be held Friday, September 1st at West & Dunn Funeral Home of Newton Grove. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Newton Grove, N.C.
Robert enjoyed camping, his family, playing golf, beer, rib eye steaks, Nascar and UNC Tarheels. He proudly served his country in the US Navy as Chief Petty Officer. He was head of maintenance with Alcatel, Golf Ranger, and barstool warmer. His main job was being the best Daddy and Grandpa a kid could have.
Left to cherish his memories are his children; Robert Ross Jones and wife Jerada, grandson Benjamin Ross Jones. Daughters; Kristy Jones and Kelly Jones, grandsons, Christian Michael Jones, and Brayden Robert Jones. Brother; Sherrill Jones, Ronald Jones, and wife Betty Jones. Sister, Jennifer Lee, and husband Norman Lee. Many nieces, nephews and cousins that are very much loved and appreciated, especially the first Sunday in May at the Jones Family Reunion.
He was preceded in death by his brother; Gary Wayne Jones, sisters; Betty Jackson and Edna Thornton.
