Benson, NC: Mr. Robert Ervin Dunn, age 75, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM, Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Banner’s Chapel Advent Christian Church in Benson. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Dunn was born on March 2, 1947 in Johnston County, NC to the late Frady and Estelle Browning Dunn. He was raised by his foster parents, the late Herman and Ruby Flowers. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Paul Dunn and wife, Hilda; sister, Margie Lassiter; sister-in-law, Peggy Dunn.
Mr. Dunn was a farmer that enjoyed seeing the fruits of his labor. He was also an avid outdoorsman. He was always there to lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need. Mr. Dunn was an active member of Banner’s Chapel Advent Christian Church for 70 years where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, and Trustee. His most treasured part of his life was his family and was always there to support them.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Edith McLamb Dunn; children, Robert Scott Dunn and wife, Kim, Rodney Shane Dunn and wife, Wendy, Christy Dunn Wood and husband, Timmy; grandchildren, Hanna Williams and husband, Brandon, Sidney Warwick and husband, Aaron, Taylor Wood, Abby Wood, Lily Wood, Brenna Wood, Skyler Dunn, Greyson Dunn; great-grandson, Walker Williams; brothers and sisters, Roy Dunn and wife, Kay, Carolyn Dunn, Ira Lee Dunn and wife, Judy, Ernie B. Dunn, Jean Edwards and husband, Wayne; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
